No hype

An AI newsletter with no hype in it, by construction

Saying you are hype-free is easy. Publishing rules that make it checkable is harder.

One email, one scored claim, no pitch. We never sell or share your address.

Three rules govern every edition. Every figure traces to a primary source, not to coverage of a source. No number runs without somewhere the reader can go to check it. And every edition ends with a call that carries a date and can be wrong.

The third rule is the one that matters. Commentary that never commits to anything can never be scored. When a call resolves, it is marked held or missed on the permanent record and it stays there. The misses are not quietly removed.

That is a slower way to publish. It also means that after a year you can look back and see whether the analysis was any good, which is not something most newsletters will let you do.

How every claim is scored

Source quality0 to 20
Peer reviewed, preprint, self-published report, vendor material, or press release.
Sample and method0 to 20
Sample size, how subjects were selected, and whether the underlying data is available.
Independence0 to 20
Does the publisher sell the solution its own finding recommends.
Replication0 to 20
Has anyone independently reproduced it with a comparable method.
Drift0 to 20
How far the popular use of the claim sits from what the source actually says.

Full method at /method/. Every scored claim stays on the record.

Questions

What counts as a primary source?

The report, filing, dataset, or peer-reviewed paper itself. Not an article describing it, and not a press release summarizing it. Where a report is quoted, the quotation comes from the report.

What happens when a call is wrong?

It is marked missed on the record, with the date, and it stays visible. A record that only shows wins is marketing.

Who publishes it?

Boldly Reimagined. Editorial independence is the point of the format, so no scored claim is ever sponsored.
